Student Shadowing & Internship Opportunities

Heartland Veterinary Hospital is proud to support students who are interested in pursuing careers in veterinary medicine. While we are not actively recruiting shadows or interns at this time, we receive frequent inquiries and are happy to collect information from students who may be a good fit if opportunities become available.

* All shadowing and internship opportunities are **unpaid**

* Availability is **limited** and **not guaranteed**

* Submitting a form does not ensure placement

High School Shadowing (Ages 16+)

This option is designed for high school students who are interested in learning more about veterinary medicine as a potential career path.

**What to expect:**

* Observation-only shadowing experience

* Typically one to two shifts

* Unpaid

* Students must be at least 16 years old

Approved students will be required to complete a shadowing agreement prior to participation.

College Internship Opportunities

This option is intended for students currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program or veterinary school who are seeking hands-on exposure in a clinical setting.

**Important details:**

* Unpaid position

* Length of experience may vary based on program requirements and clinic availability

* Placement is not guaranteed

Students may be asked to provide additional documentation, such as school requirements or a resume, during the application process.
